A man and woman have been arrested on suspicion of aiding and abetting attempted murder after a man was stabbed in the stomach and chest.
The incident happened at an address on George Street, Worcester at 23:00 BST on Sunday, West Mercia Police said.
The man was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
Investigations are continuing and a 33-year-old woman and a 41-year-old man, both from Worcester, remain in police custody, the force said.
Det Insp Mark Walters said: "This incident has occurred at a property on George Street and the victim has then left the property before being attended to by West Midlands Ambulance Service.
"We're carrying out a thorough investigation to establish what happened and how this man ended up with these very serious injuries.
"We believe that the victim and the suspects were known to each other and there was no risk to the wider public."
