Nine parks and public spaces in northern Lincolnshire have received an award which ranks them among the best in the UK.
Five Green Flag Awards have been retained in North East Lincolnshire and new awards picked up for Cleethorpes Country Park and Grimsby Crematorium.
Woodlands Crematorium and Kingsway Gardens in Scunthorpe have also retained their Green Flag status.
The award is recognition of a good quality park and facilities.
They are given by a consortium of Keep Britain Tidy, BTCV and GreenSpace.
'Superb news'
In North East Lincolnshire, the parks retaining Green Flags are Weelsby Woods, Haverstone Park, Seafront gardens and People's Park; which has two flags, one for its green spaces and the other for its heritage status.
Councillor Mick Burnett, deputy leader and portfolio holder for health, well-being, tourism and leisure, said: "This is superb news and is testimony to the hard work and dedication of many people who are involved in keeping our public parks and open spaces clean, well maintained and among other things welcoming to our residents and visitors to North East Lincolnshire."
Councillor Nigel Sherwood, cabinet member for highways and neighbourhoods at North Lincolnshire Council, said: "Staff work extremely hard to maintain the parks and keep them looking attractive for visitors. Well done."
