A teenager has been arrested over an attack on a homeless person in Hull city centre.

Police were called in the early hours of Tuesday to reports of a man hitting and kicking a homeless person sleeping in a doorway on Jameson Street.

It is believed he then fled the scene and ran off towards Queens Gardens.

A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and remained in custody, Humberside Police said.

Anyone who was in the area around the time, or who has CCTV or dashcam footage that may assist with inquiries, should contact Humberside Police on 101.
