Colne woman fined 拢500 for dog fouling offences
A woman from Colne has been fined over 拢500 for twice failing to clean up her dog's mess in the street.
Samantha Morrisey, 26, of Glenroy Avenue failed to clear up after her dog on her own street and also on the Crescent less than a month later, Reedley Magistrates Court heard.
The case coincides with Pendle Council's recent pledge to get "tough" on irresponsible dog owners.
It has launched an enforcement team with powers to issue on the spot fines.
If the fixed penalty fines are not paid, the council say owners will end up in court like Morrisey who was convicted of both offences after the case was heard in her absence.
The new enforcement team patrols Pendle's parks and public land and can issue fixed penalty notices for litter, graffiti and fly tipping as well as dog fouling.
