Boy, 5, injured after dog attack in Skelmersdale
A five-year-old boy suffered injuries to his face and body during an attack by a dog in Skelmersdale.
The attack happened at an address on Firbeck at about 17:30 GMT Thursday.
Emergency services treated the boy for his injuries at the scene before he was taken to Alder Hey Hospital where he is in a stable condition.
The dog, which police describe as "an American bulldog-type", has been destroyed. Its owner is said to be cooperating with the investigation.
