Police have started a murder inquiry after a man was killed near Leicester city centre.
Officers were called to Kent Street at about 17:30 BST on Thursday and found a "large number of people in the street", a police spokesman said.
A man in his 20s had been assaulted and was taken to the Leicester Royal Infirmary for treatment but later died.
A cordon has been put in place in the area while police forensic science experts examine the scene.
