Melton: Two girls in hospital after being hit by car
Two schoolgirls have been taken to hospital after they were hit by a car in Leicestershire.
Officers were called to Scalford Road in Melton Mowbray just after 08:00 GMT, Leicestershire Police said.
An ambulance and air ambulance also went to the scene and the road was closed. It has since reopened.
Police said both of the girls were taken to the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham where their injuries would be assessed.
