Knutsford homes evacuated after 'unknown substances' found
"Unknown substances" have been found at an address during a raid, leading to a number of homes being evacuated to allow for disposal work to take place, police have said.
Cheshire Police said the substances were found at a property on Longridge, Knutsford, at about 07:00 GMT.
The force said a 330ft (100m) cordon had been set up while Army explosive ordnance disposal experts investigate.
Five men, aged between 23 and 58, and a 22-year-old woman have been arrested.
A police representative said the cordon was "a precautionary measure" and a reception area had been set up at Knutsford Leisure Centre for displaced residents.
