Egerton crash: Man killed as bike hits drystone wall
A biker has died after the motorcycle he was riding crashed into a drystone wall.
The 51-year-old biker was attempting to overtake a vehicle on Blackburn Road in Egerton near Bolton, when he crashed on Tuesday afternoon, police said.
Officers were called to the scene at about 16:00 GMT and found the man had been travelling northbound when he mounted a footpath and hit the wall.
He died at the scene and police are now appealing for witnesses.
Anyone who saw the crash or has dashcam, CCTV or mobile footage from the area, is being urged to contact Greater Manchester Police.
