Bomb disposal team called to 'incident' in Failsworth street
An Army bomb disposal unit was sent to a residential street to deal with an "incident", police have said.
Greater Manchester Police said emergency services were deployed to Ellesmere Street in Failsworth just after 14:20 GMT.
A disposal team was tasked to attend the scene and inspect a property.
A police spokesman later confirmed the incident had been stood down and thanked the public for their understanding during the incident.
No further information about what sparked the alert was given.
