Drug driving arrest after boy, 3, struck and hurt in Liverpool
A three-year-old boy has been hit by a car in Liverpool, with the motorist arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs.
The child was taken to hospital after he was struck by a Skoda in Smithdown Road at about 15:30 GMT on Friday.
The driver of the car stopped at the scene, police said.
A 47-year-old man was held on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and drivingwhile unfit through drugs.
Merseyside Police said the boy remains in a stable condition and appealed for anyone with information to contact them.
