Liverpool triple shooting: Man appears in court

A man has appeared in court over a series of shootings in Liverpool.

Shots were fired outside the city's Showcase Cinema and at a newsagents and a house on Wednesday night, police said. There were no reported injuries.

Leslie Garrett, 49, of Liverpool, is accused of possessing a firearm with intent to endanger life.

At Liverpool Magistrates Court, he was also charged with two counts of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

Further charges included one count of attempted robbery and possession of ammunition without a certificate.

Mr Garrett was remanded into custody and is expected to appear at Liverpool Crown Court in February.
