Job cuts backed by meeting of Norfolk County Council
The loss of 90 jobs as part of plans to save 拢10m has been backed by a full meeting of Norfolk County Council.
The cuts include a 拢2.8m reduction in the 拢5.6m budget of the council's career advice service Connexions, leading to 65 posts being cut.
The savings have been agreed by the full council and unions will be consulted over the plans.
Norfolk County Council said it had been hit by the loss of 拢10m of government grants.
Other measures backed by councillors include a loss of 拢306,500 in grants awarded via the Norfolk Youth Fund - used to fund facilities for young people - although grants already approved will still be paid.
There will also be a 拢434,000 reduction in grant for school holiday activities and the deferral of about 30 safety schemes and public transport improvements, such as new footways to save 拢3.1m.
