Norfolk County Council to decide how to cut 拢10m
Norfolk County Council will decide how to cut 拢10m from its budget next week after the government cut the authority's funding.
The government has withdrawn 拢10m of grants from funds used on children's and community services as well as travel and transport.
In a report to councillors one suggestion is to seek voluntary redundancy from staff.
The special meeting will be held on 6 September.
Leader of Norfolk County Council, Daniel Cox, said: "We cannot overstate the task facing the council in the current economic climate.
"We are in unprecedented times and have been hit with in-year cuts that we can't simply meet from elsewhere in the budget because we are already working hard to deliver 拢13m efficiencies just to bring this year's budget in on target.
"We will have to be increasingly imaginative and innovative as we move forward, asking the public what we can and should provide."
