New cameras after people trapped at Bulwell crossing
New CCTV cameras have been installed at a Nottinghamshire level crossing after two incidents of people being stuck inside the barriers.
Network Rail said the new cameras were part of a 拢6m scheme to improve the Robin Hood Line.
It confirmed that an elderly man with a walking frame and a woman in a wheelchair had both got stuck at the Bulwell Forest crossing in Carey Road.
The pedestrians were not hurt and were able to get safely off the tracks.
A Network Rail spokeswoman said the new cameras should provide a better view of pedestrians on the crossing and can be controlled from a single desk at the East Midlands control centre in Derby.
