A second man has been charged with attempted murder following an assault in Nottinghamshire on Christmas Eve.
Police went to a house in Furnival Street, Worksop, at about 23:00 GMT on 24 December following reports someone had been struck with an axe.
A man in his 40s was taken to hospital with shoulder and arm injuries requiring surgery.
Nottinghamshire Police said a 27-year-old man was in custody after appearing before magistrates on Wednesday.
He is next due to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on 22 March.
The force said another man, aged 18, was due to appear at the same court in June, also charged with attempted murder.
