A man suffered slash injuries to his face after a knife attack at a pub.
Police were called to reports of a stabbing in Larry's Bar, in Derby Road, Stapleford, Nottinghamshire, at about 23:25 BST on Friday.
The man was taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-altering or life-threatening.
Nottinghamshire Police said it wanted to reassure members of the public, adding it believed the attack was an "isolated incident".
Det Insp James Oakton said: "We are working hard to locate the suspect and understand exactly what happened.
"We would also ask anyone who was in the venue around this time and saw anything which could help with the investigation to get in touch."
