A 21-year-old man is in hospital in a serious condition after being stabbed "multiple times", police have said.

The victim was attacked on Staniforth Road in the Darnall area of Sheffield at about 18:15 BST on Tuesday.

Emergency services were called to the junction of Bramham Road following reports of a group of men fighting, South Yorkshire Police said.

The road was closed but has since reopened. A small cordon remained in place outside a barber's shop on Tuesday night.

Additional patrols were in the area, police added, with any witnesses to the incident asked to get in touch.
