Man charged after policeman and dog stabbed in Ipswich

A man has been charged after a police officer, a police dog and another man were stabbed in Suffolk.
PC Steven Jay, 52, and the dog were injured in Nacton Road in Ipswich shortly after 20:00 BST on Tuesday.
Asher Picort, 21, of Oulton Road, Ipswich, was charged with two counts of grievous bodily harm and one count of criminal damage on Thursday.
He remains in custody and will appear at Ipswich Magistrates' Court later, Suffolk police said.
PC Jay was taken to Ipswich Hospital and is recovering at home.
The six-year-old German Shepherd called Aman underwent emergency surgery at a veterinary clinic and is said to be recovering well.
The 47-year-old man who was also stabbed was taken to Ipswich Hospital with a stomach wound and is understood to be in a stable condition.
