In pictures: Surrey's new London Bus Museum opens
The new London Bus Museum has opened at the Brooklands Museum in Weybridge, Surrey.
The collection has about 35 London buses and coaches dating from about 1875 to 1979 which are arranged in a timeline.
The collection includes the extremely rare RT1 - the first prototype model which paved the way for the 7,000-strong bus fleet throughout the war years and beyond. This model was put into service in August 1939.
Some of the buses have been fully restored while others are awaiting restoration in the workshops in the new building.
About two thirds of the buses are owned by the London Bus Preservation Trust, the remainder are owned by individual members.
The museum is located within Cobham Hall, a new 25,000 sq ft structure built for the London Bus Preservation Trust on the Brooklands Museum site.
Items of street furniture and other artefacts and memorabilia related to bus operations in London are on display, from uniforms to ticket machines, medals, and signs.
