A1(M) in County Durham reopens after power cables came down
A stretch of the A1(M) motorway in County Durham has reopened after powerlines fell on to the road.
It was closed for several hours between junction 59 at Coatham Mundeville and junction 60 for Bradbury after the lines came down at 16:45 GMT on Monday.
National Highways said electrical engineers had safely cleared the powerlines from the carriageway just after 01:00 GMT on Tuesday.
The road has been reopened in both directions and delays have cleared.
