Seaburn beach: Police called after suspected bones find
Inquiries have begun after suspected bones were found on a Sunderland beach.
Police were called to Seaburn beach near Queen's Parade just before 13:30 GMT after the discovery by a member of the public.
Northumbria Police said it had cordoned off the area while the "suspected remains" were recovered.
A spokesperson added there would be an "increased police presence" in the area while specialist officers were at work.
