Swindon crash: Woman arrested after Akers Way incident
A woman has been arrested after a boy was seriously hurt in a suspected hit-and-run outside a secondary school.
The 14-year-old was struck opposite the Nova Hreod Academy on Akers Way, Swindon at about 08:20 GMT.
The driver of the vehicle involved left the scene and police have now arrested a woman on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
She is currently in custody and police are appealing for any witnesses to contact them.
Wiltshire Police said the 14-year-old had been taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol where he is in a critical condition.
