Deloitte creates 125 Belfast jobs over next two years

Tax and consultancy firm Deloitte is creating 125 jobs in Belfast over the next two years.

One hundred of the new jobs will focus on software development, testing, and application support.

A further 25 jobs will come from the establishment of a complementary unit to research and develop best market practices around tax processes and administration.

It will bring the total number of staff employed in NI to 275 by 2013.

Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster said the jobs would generate about £4m annually in additional salaries into the local economy.

"Deloitte continues to work hard to grow its presence in Belfast and this latest investment is a clear endorsement of the skills and infrastructure which Northern Ireland has to offer investors," she said.

"These jobs will benefit not just experienced consultants but also graduates who are looking for an opportunity to begin a career within a global organisation."

Deloitte offers a range of audit, tax, consulting and corporate finance services to clients across the public and private sectors from offices in the UK, including Belfast and the Republic of Ireland.
