Killough: Killough recycling plant blaze under investigation
Firefighters have made "significant progress" in dampening down a blaze at a recycling plant in County Down.
Seven appliances from the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) went to the scene on the Downpatrick Road, Killough.
NIFRS urged the public to avoid the area and asked residents to keep doors and windows closed.
On Thursday evening, the fire service said the incident had been "scaled down".
"One fire appliance will remain in attendance throughout the night聽carrying out a watching brief," said Group commander Brian Coombes.
The cause of the fire is under investigation but is believed to be accidental.
