Councillor Paul Greenfield said residents of the village are 'shocked' at the news

Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon councillor, Paul Greenfield, said the local community was stunned at the news.

"Gilford is a lovely village just settled in between Portadown and Banbridge with a great mix of residents who work well and get on well locally together," he said.

"It's usually a very quiet area and certainly it's a bit of a shock to the whole community here in Gilford."

Mr Greenfield also extended his sympathies to the victim's family who are dealing with the "death of a young man in tragic circumstances".

*Three of the four people arrested by police were subsequently released unconditionally the following day. This update is reflected here.
