Motorcyclist dies in Newtownards collision

A motorcyclist in his 50s has died following a two-vehicle crash outside Newtownards in County Down.

The collision, involving a motorbike and a red Nissan car, happened on the Portaferry Road shortly after midnight on Tuesday.

The driver of the car was taken to hospital for minor injuries.

Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have captured dashcam footage, to come forward.
