Ryan McNab: Man charged with murder after Rathcoole killing

Ryan McNab's family said he was a "loving son, brother and daddy"

A 24-year-old man has been charged with murder following the death of a man in the Rathcoole area of Newtownabbey, County Antrim.

Ryan McNab, 31, who was originally from north Down, died following a serious assault in Barna Square on Friday evening.

The man is due to appear before Belfast Magistrates' Court on Monday.

Mr McNab's family said he was "a loving son, brother and daddy and a Glentoran and Liverpool fanatic".

"We are all totally devastated by the loss of Ryan," a statement from his family said.

"We will miss him so much, especially his beautiful little girl Ryleigh".

The family appealed for people not to share any footage or images related to his killing.

Detectives have not disclosed the cause of Mr McNab's death.

He received medical treatment but died from his injuries at the scene.

On Saturday, the police appealed for information about the murder.

Det Ch Insp Anthony Kelly said: "I am continuing to appeal to anyone who believes they may have information which could assist detectives with their investigation to contact us at the Major Investigation Team on 101 quoting reference 1779 of 21/10/22.

"I will add that we are aware of footage from the scene circulating and would ask people not to share this out of respect for the family."
