A handcuffed man has escaped from police custody in Enniskillen, County Fermanagh, police have said.

Duane Farry, aged 34, was arrested earlier on Monday on suspicion of a number of offences including criminal damage and assault on police.

He absconded in the Irivinestown Road area at about 18:50 GMT while being dealt with for a medical issue.

Mr Farry is approximately 5t 5in tall (1.6m), of thin build, with blonde hair and multiple tattoos to both arms.

He was last seen wearing grey tracksuit bottoms and a white T-shirt, and was handcuffed at the front.

Insp Brown has advised the public to not approach him but to call 999 immediately if he is seen.

"Police would also appeal directly to Duane hand himself in," he said.

"I want to reassure the local community that we have deployed all necessary resources as we work to locate Mr Farry."
