Tories top latest party donations

The Conservatives received 拢3.2m in party donations in the last three months of 2011, according to figures from the Electoral Commission.

Labour received 拢2.3m in donations, while the Lib Dems received 拢1.07m.

UKIP got the most donations of the smaller parties, 拢151,000, more than twice that of the Scottish National Party on 拢50,964.

Donations over 拢7,500 must be reported by central parties - the threshold is 拢1,500 for constituency associations.

show that Plaid Cymru reported no donations at all in the last quarter of 2011, while the Green Party reported 拢26,530 and the Scottish Greens got 拢8,196. The British National Party received 拢10,000.

Labour's biggest single donation was 拢649,092 from the GMB union. The Conservatives were given 拢600,000 by the National Conservative Draws Society while the Lib Dems got a 拢329,352 boost from the Methuen Liberal Trust Fund.

Overall in 2011, the Conservatives raised 拢14.1m in donations, Labour just under 拢12m, the Lib Dems 拢4.1m and the SNP 拢2.8m.
