Hundreds of Scottish schools stay closed
Hundreds of schools across Scotland will remain closed after heavy snow and freezing overnight temperatures.
West Lothian, North Lanarkshire, South Lanarkshire and Falkirk also said all schools in their area would be shut.
About 900 schools are closed and more than 200,000 children away from classes.
Most councils tried to get pupils back to school on Monday but many were forced to send children home early.
Some pupils missed school all last week because of the freezing weather.
In Glasgow, the University of Strathclyde said it would remain closed as a result of the adverse weather conditions.
Other areas have also announced closures for Tuesday.
In Stirling, a number of schools are closed but the council was trying to keep others open.
All Scottish Borders schools are open, except for Heriot.
