Skull found in Motherwell is human, police say

A skull found by a member of the public in North Lanarkshire has been confirmed as human remains.
The discovery was made in Bellshill Road, Motherwell, at about 05:30 on Friday.
Police confirmed that it was a human skull but added that there do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the discovery.
Inquiries are ongoing, they added.
