Woman dies after car and lorry crash on M8 near Edinburgh

A woman has died in a crash involving a car and a Tesco lorry near Edinburgh.
The 41-year-old car driver was pronounced dead at the scene following the collision at Hermiston Gate, near junction 1 of the westbound M8, at about 09:10 on Monday.
Police closed the road for almost 10 hours as part of an initial investigation.
A spokesperson for Tesco confirmed a heavy goods vehicle had been involved in the crash with a Kia Sorento.
The HGV was operated by a contractor, Russell Logistics.
