Glasgow 2014: Queen's Baton Relay in Scotland
The Queen's Baton Relay has been the Commonwealth Games' curtain raiser since 1958. The baton reached 70 Commonwealth nations and territories ahead of the opening ceremony in Glasgow on 23 July 2014.
The baton took 40 days to travel around Scotland and 4,000 baton bearers carried the baton before it appeared at the opening ceremony of the Games on 23 July.
The route round Scotland covered every local authority from the Borders to the Shetland Islands.
