Man, 69, dies in house fire in Auchinleck

A 69-year-old man has died following a fire at a house in Auchinleck, East Ayrshire.

Fire crews were called to the property in Back Rogerton Crescent at about 22:15 on Wednesday. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A joint investigation is being carried out by police and the fire service.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "The fire is being treated as unexplained but there do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances."
