Controlled explosion after STV building evacuated
The bomb squad carried out a controlled explosion of a suspect package near the STV headquarters in Glasgow after the building was evacuated.
Police and other emergency services were called to a car park in Govan Road near the South Rotunda at about 18:40 on Tuesday.
Govan Road at Lorne Street, extending to the Clyde Arc Bridge, was closed.
The channel remained on air but STV's Scotland Tonight programme was not transmitted.
The area was reopened at about 01:00 on Wednesday.
A police spokeswoman confirmed an investigation was under way.
She said: "A cordon was put in place as a precaution, EOD attended and carried out a controlled explosion. The item was found to be not viable.
"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances."
She said no residential properties were evacuated.
