A woman has appeared in court accused of murdering another woman in South Lanarkshire just before Christmas.
Claire Kilduff is alleged to have attacked Ann Coll at her flat in Rutherglen on 22 December 2023.
Court papers allege the 37-year-old repeatedly struck Miss Coll on the head with an unknown object.
They also state that she repeatedly stabbed Miss Coll, 61, on the neck and body with an unknown sharp implement.
Ms Kilduff, of East Kilbride, made no plea during a private hearing at Glasgow Sheriff Court.
She was remanded in custody and will appear again in court in eight days' time.
Ann Coll was found with serious injuries by police and later pronounced dead at the scene of the incident in the town's Newfield Place.
