Police launch murder inquiry after Ayrshire death
Police have launched a murder inquiry following the death of a 36-year-old man in North Ayrshire on Tuesday.
Alan Lawson, from Saltcoats, was assaulted at a property on Alexander Avenue in Largs over the weekend. He died in hospital on Tuesday.
Police believe he was the victim of a targeted attack and following a post mortem examination, a murder investigation has begun.
Officer want to trace his movements at the weekend and find out who he met.
Det Ch Insp Ally Semple said police had established that Mr Lawson was on New England Road in Saltcoats on Sunday evening.
Police have urged anyone with information or CCTV footage of relevant areas to get in touch.
There will be increased patrols of the area while police carry out inquiries.
