Marchers on Union Street were highlighting concerns about education spending

Hundreds of public sector workers have been taking part in a march through Aberdeen in protest at education cuts.

The Union Street event has been organised by the Educational Institute of Scotland (EIS) teaching union.

The EIS said it wanted to show councillors the strength of feeling about "severe cuts".

The local authority said that, while there had been a squeeze on funding, significant sums were still being invested in schools.
