Aberdeen rail station set for £2.5m of Abellio improvements

The company which won the franchise to run ScotRail services has said it will invest £2.5m in improving the train station in Aberdeen.
Dutch rail operator Abellio won the £6bn deal for the next decade.
As well as providing a new retail development at Aberdeen, the company is also in talks on how to improve access from the station to Union Street.
Abellio also plans to offer cycle hire facilities.
Abellio beat companies including Aberdeen-based FirstGroup for the 10-year ScotRail contract.
