Police hunt attempted armed robber in Insch

A man armed with a knife who tried to rob another man in Aberdeenshire is being hunted by police.

The incident happened in Commerce Street in Insch at about 19:10.

Police Scotland said no-one was injured. Offices want to trace a man who was about 6ft tall, with short, brown hair, and wearing a cap.

Det Sgt John Lumsden said: "This appears to have been an isolated incident and officers are following a positive line of inquiry."

He added: "Although he wasn't injured it has naturally been upsetting for the man involved."
