Man who died at Orkney loch named as Aberdeen man

A man who died after getting into difficulty in the water while fishing on an Orkney loch has been named by police.

Coastguards and other members of the emergency services were called to Kirbister Loch in Orphir on Wednesday afternoon.

Nicholas Philips, 56, from Aberdeen, was brought ashore but could not be saved.

A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
