AG Barr said sales grew across all of its brands

The maker of Irn Bru has predicted sales will rise 13% in the first half of this year to 拢118m.

Cumbernauld-based AG Barr said the fine weather in the early summer had increased sales of soft drinks by 7.1%.

The company said that sales growth continued across all its brands with strong performances from Irn Bru and Rubicon.

However it warned that a rise in the cost of fruit imports would lead to an increase in the price of Rubicon.

In a statement to the stock exchange the company said: "In the second half we face tougher year-on-year comparative trading conditions and expect our performance to return to levels more in line with the overall soft drinks market."

AG Barr also confirmed that most of its distribution was being carried out by the Eddie Stobart group.

The transport firm won the 拢18m contract in March this year.
