NHS Tayside reopens two wards closed by norovirus outbreak
NHS Tayside has reopened two wards that were closed to new admissions following an outbreak of norovirus.
Ward 2 at Crieff Community Hospital and Ward 4 at Dundee's Royal Victoria Hospital were closed following several cases of vomiting and diarrhoea.
Both wards had been closed as a precautionary measure.
Norovirus causes vomiting, stomach cramps, fever and diarrhoea, and is easily spread from person to person.
NHS Tayside is still advising anyone who might be feeling unwell or experiencing vomiting and diarrhoea not to visit friends and family members in hospital until they are free of all symptoms for at least 48 hours.
