Sneak-in thefts at Dundee pensioners' homes linked

A 90-year-old man has been targeted by a "despicable" sneak-in thief at his home in Dundee.

A metal box containing medication and a jar of coffee was stolen from the pensioner's home in Main Street.

Police are linking the theft with an incident the same night where an elderly couple disturbed a female thief in their Church Street home.

Jewellery, money, a purse, and a Samsung tablet were stolen from the couple's sheltered housing.

The incidents took place between 00:00 and 08:30 on Monday.

PC Colin McKenzie said: "These are despicable crimes, targeting as they did the vulnerable elderly within their own homes within a sheltered housing complex.

"We would like to speak with a woman who is described as aged 25 to 29, around 5ft 6in tall, of thin build and with dark hair held in a bun at the rear.

"I would ask taxi drivers or delivery drivers to think of any person meeting the description that they may have seen walking about the streets."
