Police have charged a man with raping a woman in Alloa in the early hours of Sunday.

The victim, who is in her 20s, was attacked in a courtyard area off Candleriggs Court, which remains sealed off.

Additional officers have been on patrol in the area to offer reassurance. The woman is receiving specialist support.

The 22-year-old man is due to appear at Alloa Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
