Firefighters across south and west Wales have tackled about 150 grass fires after sunny weather returned.

South Wales fire service said crews were still dealing with three large grass fires on Wednesday night.

Three fire engines were dealing with a blaze at Gelli in Rhondda, a blaze behind the fire station at Panteg and another two in Pontypool.

There were also a number of small fires "dotted around", the force said.

There have also been reports of large grass fires burning at Morriston, Swansea, on Wednesday night.

On Tuesday, Mid and West Wales fire service tackled grass fires at Morriston, Pontardawe, Swansea and Llanelli.

The biggest fire was on the Gwrhyd mountain at Pen Y Rhiw, near Pontardawe, where over nine acres (4ha) of forestry was alight.
