North Wales child abuse: Man bailed by police in Operation Pallial
A man arrested by a team investigating allegations of historical abuse at chldren's homes in north Wales has been released on police bail.
He was questioned following his arrest in Ipswich, Suffolk, on Tuesday on suspicion of serious sexual offences against a number of people.
It was the first arrest in Operation Pallial, an independent investigation set up to examine allegations surrounding child abuse in the region.
The man has been bailed until July.
The investigation is being led by Det Supt Ian Mulcahey of Merseyside Police, alongside officers and staff from the Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA), the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre and police forces across the country.
A report on the progress of the operation is due to be published on Monday.
