Three arrests have been made after an early morning suspected arson attack on a cricket club in Conwy.

Four fire crews were called to the clubhouse at Colwyn Bay cricket club in Penrhyn Avenue, Rhos-on-Sea at 12:20 BST on Friday.

No-one was injured, but a building at the back of the club was badly damaged.

It is the latest in a spate of vandalism which has caused anger in the village. A nearby primary school has also been targeted recently.

The fire service said the incident was declared under control shortly after 02:00 BST.

It was tackled with three hose reel jets of water and two main jets.

Eight sets of breathing apparatus were in use along with thermal imaging cameras, ladders and tools.

The clubhouse is being visited by a joint fire investigation team on Friday.
