Man dies following incident with bull on a Llandeilo farm
A farmer has died following an incident involving a bull, 大象传媒 Wales understands.
It is believed the man, 58-year-old Maldwyn Harries, was attacked by a bull during a TB test on Friday morning.
Dyfed-Powys Police said officers were called to a farm in the Penybanc area, near Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire, after reports a man had been injured.
Family friend the Reverend Simon Bowkett said the community was in shock following the news.
"To think that Maldwyn, having worked in the way he had and the experience he had, has been killed by a bull, (it's a) tremendous shock," Mr Bowkett, who is also a farmer, said.
He told 大象传媒 Wales there was a feeling of "stillness and concern" in Llandeilo, with people offering help.
On Monday an "act of commemoration and remembrance" was held before a sheep sale.
The coroner, along with the Health and Safety Executive, have been informed following the incident, and an investigation has been launched.
The Farmers Union of Wales said it sent its condolences to the family following the tragedy.
The Welsh government offered its sympathies to Mr Harries' family and friends.
A spokesman said: "Mr Harries' family is being offered support at this very sad and difficult time.
"We await the outcome of the HSE investigation into this tragic accident."
